Adventure and Eco Tour Safari Program

Day One
- Arrive in Managua, Nicaragua. Private transfer to the classic, Hotel Seminole Plaza. Cocktail reception and orientation with the tour guides. Dinner in a local restaurante.

Day Two - Breakfast at the hotel followed by a (1) hour plane ride from Managua to the village of San Carlos located at the mouth of the San Juan River. Exceptional scenery from the plane! Board our private river boat for a (2) hour journey "up river" to our jungle river lodge which is surrounded by many exotic special of animals, reptiles and birds. (The lodge has hot water in all private rooms with fans but no air-conditioning.) All meals at the lodge.

Day Three - Breakfast. Depart "up river" to the Immaculate Conception Fortress and Wildlife Preserve for hiking and viewing many exotic species including: Of parrot, monkey and alligators. Return to the lodge for individual activities.

Day Four - Breakfast. Late AM departure "down river" to San Carlos for departure by air to Managua. Drive (1) hour to the lakeside, colonial town of Granada. Check into the Hotel Colonial. Dinner in local restaurante. (This is my favorite town in Nicaragua and I have been there (7) times since June of 2003. It is a wonderfully preserved colonial "walking around" town.)

Day Five - Breakfast. Depart for the Mombacho Volcano for a very exciting (17) platform canopy adventure. Lunch in the field followed by an afternoon of trekking & wildlife viewing in the rain forest volcano's crater. Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day Six - Breakfast. Guided kayaking excursion around some of Lake Granda's 300 plus islands. Some of the island are no larger than a basketball court and others are much larger that hold a school, clinic and private homes. Each island is privately owned. Freshly caught Rainbow Bass lunch cooked over a wood fire at one of the "island home restaurants." Return kayaks and depart for n "Africa Queen" style boat tour of the lake. Dinner at the authentic and classic Restaurante Zaguan.

Day Seven - Breakfast. Depart for the "active" Santiago Volcano. Trek to the hill side rim viewpoint. Lunch at the Hotel Norome with a stop at the Catarina lookout on the way. Depart for a tour of the traditional Masaya local market. Return to Granada for a relaxing dinner.

Day Eight - Breakfast. Travel to the colonial town of Old Leon and visit the ruins of the early Spanish settlement. Lunch in New Leon. Afternoon visit to the San Jacinto Hot Springs. Lodging nearby Poneloya Beach at the Hotel Pena del Tigre. Dinner and a traditional "fiesta" at the Restaurante Pena del Tigre.

Day Nine - Breakfast. Mornings activities at Ponelya Beach. Lunch. Boat excursion to the Islans of Juan Venado Wild Life Preserve. Late PM return to Managua and the Hotel Seminole Plaza. Dinner.

Day Ten - Breakfast. Day's activities will be according to your departure flight back to USA.

You will need a valid passport!

Cost of $ each person (single occupancy) and $ (double occupancy) will include: Private airport transfers; All lodgings; All meals; San Carlos - Managua plane tickets; Boat excursions; Bilingual guides and all program activities as listed above.
