Bob's
Rio Indio Jungle Safari
I
welcome you to this very exciting, jungle, sports and cultural
safari to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Our group will be
a "mix" of fun loving " and
adventurous friends all having a great time! Think Cuba! I
just returned last month from my first visit to the Rio
Indio Lodge with some clients and a major travel magazine. All
agreed on one thing. Very seldom does one's travel destination
meet one's expectations. The Rio Indio Lodge safari truly
exceeded all expectations. At times it seemed we did nothing but
converse around the complimentary rum bar and then all of a
sudden we were speeding through the jungle in motorized pangas
watching the wildlife and fishing for Rainbow Bass. We
even discovered a downed jet from the Contra war with
missiles" in tact. Play

|
| The
Rio Indio Adventure Lodge, located on the banks of the San
Juan River, is the gateway to the wild and virtually unexplored
Rio Indio Maiz Biological Preserve in southeastern Nicaragua.
This magical wilderness reserve, which spans 640,000 acres, is
the largest lowland tropical forest north of the Amazon. |
|
The rustic elegance of the Lodge is simply striking. The
(30) very comfortable, "safari style," rooms, main
dining room, lounge, bar and reception are designed in solid
mahogany, while thatched-roof walkways link our spacious guest
bungalows to the lodge and traverse above the jungle floor. |
 |
| The
private property and the huge reserve which surrounds Rio Indio
Lodge is home to mammals, reptiles and "nearly
unlimited" exotic bird and plant species. When fishing
near the lodge you might have the privilege to see some Golden
Manatees. |
|

|
| So
let our Rama Indian guides take you on a jungle canoe ride, trek
into the jungle, visit Old Grey Town, neighboring Indian fishing
village and live "first hand" 200 years of Nicaraguan
heritage. |
|
Our guests will be personally greeted by our dedicated and
friendly staff. Your pathway to adventure starts here! -
Outside Magazine. Rio Indio Lodge was rated one of the ten best (but
undiscovered), eco lodges in the world. |
